Since I know little about the city council, I began looking at some news articles and the city website for information. I found that three out of seven seats are up for grabs between nine candidates. Incumbents Paul Esslinger and Burk Towers will be back on the ballot, but Frank Towers will not run. The other candidates are:

Michelle Bogden, Michael Domke, Mark Madison, Dennis McHugh, Mary Meyst, Kent Monte and former city councilor Brian Poeschl.

The nine will be down to six after a primary on Feb. 21.

so on the recent common council agenda...

Many boat launches are located within many of the Oshkosh public parks.

Many boaters take their dogs on their boats.

Oshkosh ordinance says that dogs are not allowed in public parks.

Now if ole Fred wants to take lil' Fido out on his boat, how is he suposed to transfer the pup to his boat without breaking a city ordinance?

Apparently a curious (and very law abiding [ ]<--square ) brought this up as an issue so the council decided that
yep
it's okay to have your dog on the grounds while launching boat,
as long as it is on a leash and within close proximity.

My opinion?
There has to be much more interesting holes in Oshkosh ordinances, there just has to be.

OMG I just had a story idea! (the following is actually very irrelevant)

When I was younger I would go shopping with one of my friends because she drove her dad's vehicle that had handicapped plates on it. I never understood why her dad was handicapped because he looked and sounded perfectly healthy.

I wonder how many people use handicapped parking when they don't really need it.
How easy is it to score one of these things?

It would be interesting if we could get someone to fake something just to get plate, or is that breaking the law?
Am I over analyzing or imagining a problem that doesn't really exist?

My roommate is deaf in one ear, I wonder if he can handicapped plates.
I wish I had handicapped plates 'cause
then I could wear my nice heels to school.
